Hi All

I am having a few issue with my ecu in my car.... basically a while back it stopped starting on the starter button... I found it would push start ok and still ran perfectly.

So I needed an ECU quick and bought a new one that worked but had a fault with it that gradually got worse.... took it Kerridges that have been brillient and loaned me their spare ECU to use while both mine were sent back for repair.

The car runs perfect with this ECU (well one random issue that they knew they had with this ECU and is why its a spare)... anyhow after a month my ECU's have both come back apparently fixed... but both run terribly in the car, tried resetting the maps but they still not useble.

So they have refitted the spare ecu and the car is now runing perfectly again.... Ive done about 7k on this and the new ecu i bought so nothing is getting worse.

Now it seems that the ECU has to be at fault... but both were sent back with a clean bill.

Is there anything else I could be checking?... i mean my original ecu doesnt run now even though the non start is fixed and it ran perfectly before.

anyone got any ideas or suggestions as to whats going on?

you say kerridges have been brilliant but have sent you your ecu back in a worse state than before and have you paid for this service .sorry if i seem a bit offish but i have also had ecu issues that leave a bit of a bitter taste

Well its not Kerridges that have fixed the ecu as it went back to noble... they loaned me theirs for ages and I consider that good service.

Not saying its anybodys fault I just dont understand it... the original ecu ran perfectly just wouldnd start on the button... now it runs rough as hell as does the other one. They have tried resetting the map but with no change as that was my first question.

Im just wondering if there is any other thing i should be looking out for that i may be missing?

Have you checked the basics like battery voltage, voltage on the fuel pump, voltage on the ECU, the condition of the wiring around the alternator (if it isn't charging properly the battery properly the ECU and fuel pump won't be happy).

Good idea I will check these things... I use the car every day tho using their donor ecu and it starts and runs perfect rain shine day night and the battery never falters and it can run full boost ok, idles fine etc etc.

My gut says maps and if they come back from Noble still the same i recon i will need to seak a mapping expert.

cheers for the help
