I've knitted one for someone and the shop I work in from time to time keeps getting requests.

They are actually quite easy and most basic knitters should be able to do them

My Nan once knitted me a cricket jumper. I wore it proudly until I tried to throw the ball in to the keeper, whereupon the huge cabled jumper sleeve overtook my throwing arm and stopped the ball in its tracks before returning it to my armpit like woollen bowling-alley machinery.

Anyway, if you're bothered about the credit crunch and are thinking about armed robbery, why not take the option of legitimately pulling ladies' hosiery over your face? In comparison a fecking balaclava's just ghey.
