yes steve

power engineering don't sell them anymore i dont think

I am after 3 or 4 of all the smallest 3 sizes...

I think I have found a site that sells the ferric ones with the zinc bolt, slightly cheaper
shame their postage prices are massive

Buy proper thin banded T-Bolt clamps, or else high quality Jubilee style clips.

At least they will seal properly.

Test your system and see then.

The banding on the Mikalors are very thick...even more so on the piece that covers the gap between the 2 sections.
This creates a large step, with the potential for leaks.

I tested a few sizes ( circa 2-3" ) and they leaked.

They do work for some people though.....

I've used them and they solved my IC pipes blowing off (because they didn't have a bead on them). The 3" ones are very beefy though, you need a 13mm socket to do them up.

I can see how they could leak though, as they are easily capable of crushing ally IC pipe.

Overtightening could be one aspect....

But on one size we tried...think it was 3", you could actually slip a feeler blade up under the silicone piping at the point where the outer section of the clamp, overlapped the bit that fills the gap.

It would have created a massive leak.

In operation...would it be noticable with the turbo blowing hard ? who knows. But static...its very noticable.

if its a custom build etc...it is always worth doing a pull pressure test on all plumbing as installed. Its surprising the leaks you find.

Most of the hydraulic companies sell em, Hyphose do em for about £3 each. I use them on my 500bhp turbo nutter machine at 2bar of boost thumbup

I have found my bag of clamps.

I have

3x 25-27mm
2x 29-31
2x 31-34
3x 37-40
5x 40-43

If you want them make me an offer.

I cant remember if I have pressure tested it with the mikalor clamps, but I did with the cheap clamps before. But you are right - you do get leaks - usally just a tighten up will cure it.
Whats interesting is that you can make a fair amount of boost even with a massive leak. I left the intake temp sensor out (20mm hole) and it still made 5psi.
