Just passed Redline Racing in Pool in Wharfedale. No cars on forecourt or showroom and nobody home, Does anybody know if they have moved or gone bust? Victims of the credit crunch along with Richard Alexanders VW dealers.

Glad to hear they are still going. Been in a couple of times and they are a cut above the normal garages.

Yep, the had about 6 cars on the front last Sunday, none today biggrin

Finally moved, but they were getting Soooo cramped in there for the last four or five years!

I remember friends buying cars from there back at school, AX GTi's and so on, but they have certainly moved up in the world now... must be doing something right and a recent visit by my bother for a car confirmed they are a fine pre-owned car reseller smile

I'm tempted to go have a peek soon!

Bit OT, but has anyone used that place in Collingham on the junction opposite the two pubs? They seem to have grown a fair bit too over the last few years and have some nice cars...

Thunder road sports and prestige cars, in the old star garage, I don't have any experience of them though http://www.thunder-road.info/contact.asp

Edited to add-that they specialise in German marques

Thats them biggrin

I think it was Jon I spoke to, he seemed to know what he was talking about wrt to specifics like servicing the M Z4, the sales hype aside winksmile

From what they were saying about their general servicing offers they sounded like a good place to buy a car from and leave them to look after it...

Think I'll be going back for a nosey at a 3.0 Z4 when they have one in!

I'll have to get over to Redline Racing though, will be cool to look around their Lambo's in a nice spacious showroom biggrin

Cheers

Dave

Looks like the "old" Jaguar Showroom they have moved into. Should be good as they are with a number of Dealers on the same estate and close to some good roads for test drives.

I hope the quality of their prep improves. Everytime I visited their old showroom,I found their stock to be in poor shape - dents, scratches, scuffed wheels etc.

HELP!

not usually on the Yorkshire forum, (NE) but hope some of you can help with this company.

I'm trying to buy a car from them at present, but something doesn't smell right.

Can anyone advise any bad histories? (sure some of you have had good experiences by all accounts)

Bobbins - can you shed any light?

It appears they're selling me a a car they don't own! They've been around a few years ( i know their old site in Pool) but not according to companies house!!!! They've only been in existence a few months!!!

Something funny afoot? any advice appreciated, please PM if you can't share publicly. Cheers lots for any help!!!

I think you will find most dealers these days will have a fair few cars on sale or return, so will not actually own the cars they sell. I have bought and sold a fair few cars from Redline over the years and I would say they are the most honest car people I have ever delt with

When changing my car in the past, I have looked at their stock. On each occasion I found their cars to be in poor shape and walked. I am not sure how choosy they are when buying stock as a friend sold them a Boxster which they happily retailed, the car was a wreck.

Sounds like they possibly bust the original company that was based in Pool and set up a new one!
