Ive had the car over two years now. Its pretty much standard apart from an ecu remap, the increased power has shown the weaknesses in the brakes and roadholding a little but its still good fun, quite quick for such a light car. Doubt ill be upgrading anything as I hope to get something new next summer.
Anyway thought id share a few pics.

Thanks for lookin!

Lovely. I had a blue one. Part of me wishes I'd kept it and bought a cheaper Elise (I swapped it for one).

Really?, Ive been thinking of an S1 Elise next year, providing I can find one!.
How did you find the transition?. Im a little worried about the leaky roofs etc as I dont have a garage but I really want the chuckability, Ive yet to testdrive one but my heart is already set!

I had a Ibiza 1.9 TDi until September - like you I had an ECU remap, a strut brace & a performance airfilter. It was certainly quick enough around the Nürburgring in May. I traded it in for a new MX5, which is in another league all together (am loving it!).

The road is between Loch Lomond and Loch Long in Glen Douglas. Its a wee bit narrow but great fun smile

Very different cars. I went from my Ibiza to a new S2 111s Elise as I came into some money. I dearly loved the Elise and regret swapping it for the 190 I changed it for as in hindsight it did everything I needed it to. However I also wish I'd bought an S1 Elise second hand and kept the Ibiza. As long as you go into it with you eyes open you should be fine. The roofs can be made to be watertight if they're in good condition, treated with fabsil or similar and adjusted properly to fit. There are other pitfalls but there are also loads of good cars out there. The Elise forum here has loads of good info as does seloc.org. Best thing to do is read up loads.

How many miles do you do? If you need to do big miles be very sure before you get an Elise as whilst its doable you have to be committed. If your mileage is relatively ow you'll be fine.
