M3 CSL OR 4.3 SPEED SIX ?

I'm back lads

Heve been in two minds lately, as to sell Tiv for a CSL. I am a great fan of the Tiv's but simply want to experience the CSL too.

To be honest I want both cars on the drive but no can do! Over the last 2.5 years I have carried out approx: £10,000 worth of sensible mods and upgrades to the TIV. Under the current market may get £20,000- £23,000 whick is what the average 2005 cars may sell at. So I can either sell the Tiv, invest another £7,000 and sample a CSL or invest £8,000 and go for Powers 4.3 Engine with over 400bhp and a three year warranty etc, etc.

Help!

What would you T350c lads do?

P.S Please let me Know if any of you have gone from T350C to CSL or vise versa.

Just sold mt 2005 M3 to get my T350. Only had the M3 a few months, found it boring. CSL may be a bit better, but like the M3 it don't stand out in the crowd enough for me.

They all say that the M£ and M3 CSL are a million miles apart on driving!

I had an M3 a few years ago, got rid due to circumstances (no fault of my own) at the time, but replaced it a little while later with the Chimaera. Had that three years and was going to go back to an M3 CSL as my daily drive. But as S1mon said, it is boring compared to a T350, ended up with the choice of a M3 CSL or the T350, went for the T350 and dont regret it.....even with it being off the road for the past 3 weeks. As soon as it started up again the smile was back......

Go for the 4.3 from Power......and get another 3 years of great motoring in.....

Just a quick question for simon,
is that number plate on the front of your car legal? Just quite like it but i don't want extra attention from plod.

and personally stick with the T350 you'll only regret it.

Never had a BMW, so probably bias, but it would be the T350 every time. My work colleague had a BM V8, and although a loverly car, had absolutely no character at all. Such a non event! and by the way, he ended up getting shot of it, as it was always at the dealers with problems, and they go on about TVR reliability.

I have owned both. The t350 would eat a csl for breakfast on track . The engine note on a csl is awesome but standard brakes are not up to the job and need upgrading. I also found the csl seats uncomfortable on long journeys. I would also say that there are a lot of cars out there which will have noisy diffs , but I would still say that it's a car everyone should drive once in there life even if it's only a test drive! Build quality is a lot better. All said if you are going to spend another 8k then I would get a sagaris if you haven't had one yet - good luck!

Got a similar plate on mine and think in general if it is not mis-spaced they will likely ignore it. They can't argue that scameras can't read it as I can testify

I suppose you get a fairly predictable answer when posting on a TVR forum.
I've had both (and a standard M3) and I'm by no means a professional driver, but I found the CSL faster and more fun as a daily driver.

Yes, the TVR was probably quicker in a straight line on a dry road, but the CSL was much more confidence inspiring when the roads got twisty.
The BMW's build quality was also a different league and didn't feel like it was always going to fall apart.
Frankly the TVR felt extremely flimsy and cost be a fortune with repairs.

Saying that, the T350 is a world away in terms of looks, noise and drama.
At the end of the day the CSL is just a glorified family hatch and every other rep has a 3 series.
You don't see may photocopier salesmen in TVRs..
