I'm currently on a diet - I've lost nearly a stone in six weeks. However, I'm now getting some serious cravings. This morning my eldest son decided to make a bacon buttie - the aroma was/is 'intoxicating'!

Damn it - I'm having one!

Thought you'd say it was bacon.

And what's wrong with eating bacon? Mainly fat and protein. Dump the bread if you're trying a bit of low carb self-harming.

FWIW, that is a very good rate of weight loss ie it's healthy at 2lbs a week. 3+ is risking your health plus likely to be short-lived so you would be back to your old weight in no time.

As for cravings, there are some great ways of killing cravings quickly... google Emotional Freedom Techniques.

Certainly did for me ... although whether you are a failed vegetarian or a reformed vegetarian is open to debate smile

I know a couple of veggies that claim bacon 'doesn't count'.

Lets face it, a world without bacon butties is incomprehensible.

Or Beef fillet Steak, or pheasant, or venison, or veal, or lamb, god or pork sausages, or smoked haddock, or tuna or sardines, or prawns, or scallops, or duck......I'm hungry now.

+1

Or if you really want to eat bread get some Danish bread which is low GI, or go for brown. For me any bakery type smell does it!

Yes, defo a fan of the GI diet. Diet as in a lifelong way of eating healthily rather than "cutting out food groups that are important for your health". I tend to eat the GI diet to stay awake at work rather than to lose weight. biggrin

Well as I am a human, I am an omnivore. So I eat meat.

Those people who are dumb, sorry I mean herbivores, are just uneducated.

Firstly, well done on the weightloss.

For me, its looking at pretty much anything that can be consumed, if it has an aroma, my mouth will water, and I feel the need to eat it.

Best thing to do, to keep you on track is work in cheat meals.

The way I looked at it, 42 meals a week, 1 horrendous one wont do much harm.
