Just thought that I'd share my experience of remapping my girlfriends' E36 323i manual.

I've always been a bit sceptical of remapping non turbo cars that haven't been significantly modified as there isn't really much that you can change to affect the way the car drives. However a month or so ago Colin at CNL did my 320d (an absolute must if you own one) and offered me a deal that I couldn't refuse on the 323.
Finally got around to getting it done today and was surprised by the improvement. Smoother, lower tickover (about 400rpm), much crisper throttle response, noticeably more power 3-4,500rpm and an extra kick at about 4,700 pushing the car through to 6,000, whereas before it ran out of steam at about 5,000. At last the car seems to want to be driven hard!

Best value for money I've ever spent on modifying a car.

So now when you're waiting at the lights, instead of going DAGdagDAGdagDAGdagDAGdag like it used to,

does it go dag...dag...dag...dag...dag...dag...dag...dag...dag ?
