As per the post title as I was in the process of warming up the old girl and the rear de-mister packed in. Worked in the morning fine then for a couple of minutes in the afternoon then nothing. Poor visibility meant it was a complete bast trying to park the beast!

Anyway before I start trawling through my workshop manuals, checking the wires and the fuses I just wonder if there's any common failures I should be aware of in relation to this?

Any help appreciated even if it's not model specific as I've not had one of these fail before. The car is a 1998 XJR.

Cheers guys.

G

have you tried looking at the elements along the back of the window, sometimes the hot and cold make them split thus breaking the circut, if it is yoy can buy stuff from the likes of halfords to to put across the crack, hope this helps u, but no doubt it wont lol

I'll give it a good look over tomorrow! I'd heard that all the wires are in these things are in series so I guess that would be a good place to start. I'm still crossing my fingers for a faulty fuse/switch because I imagine it'll be messy as hell trying to re-do the wires... Cheers for the heads up on the halfrauds thing though didn't know they would sell things like that!
