As we haven't had any car photos round here for a while I thought I'd share some. I realise the car park setting has been done to death, I felt maybe with the 500 being a city car I might get away with it.
I was going for a high key look with these, deliberately over-exposing them then pushing that over exposure a bit more in post processing.

The last one is very good, over all a nice set all round.
I havnt got any new albums but to add some more pictures of cars to the forum I'll link to my site. www.dankemp.co.uk

Hi Ben,
I hope you don't mind an honest critique
The idea of going for a high key look is a good one, but I don't think it's been massively successful in these shots - I think you'd possibly need to overpower any ambient light with flash to really make it work. Or alternatively, shoot at night and rely on the car parks lighting to bleach the colours.
I also think that a few of the compositions could have done with being tighter into the main focus of attention - in other words, I don't believe using such a wide lens has worked to your advantage on this occasion.
Overall I think it's a decent effort, with pics 6 & 9 being the standout photos of the bunch, but having seen your previous work I think you could do better.
I hope you don't mind an honest critique

Has Tuan sold his Murci then?
'Fraid so...
Had to stop with the toys and join the land of the sensibles for a while. Thanks to Ben for taking the shots. The shoot was a bit of a rush job as I'm offloading the car very soon. However, as posted 6&9 are (in my layman opinion) great!

I don't mind at all, I'd rather that than no responses! You're right on all counts I think, although the interior shots are my favourites rather than 6 & 9 which I don't really like that much.
As GI_Jnr says, it was a bit of a rush but that's not a real excuse. Must try harder.
hey dobbo, just posted this site http://www.markuswendler.de/ in the 'best car photographers' section, he has some great 'high-key' parking lot/architectural photo's, such as these ones, might be interesting for you.

That first one is the kind of look I was going for - however I think there is a lot of postprocessing and probably some CGI going on there.Gassing Station | Photography & Video | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
