anyone know what happened to crikeymikey??
Discussion
I think it's safest to say that Mike was far more concerned with having rather more of that 'being alive' stuff.
He had a very serious life-threatening illness which made him, at best, barely functional for some time.
He WAS at the LCUK Annual Dinner in September with Countess Emerton and their Gallardo.
However, if he were watching, I'd say that Mike is not the kind of chap to get hacked off with people without giving them a mighty blow in writing that they'd struggle to recover from!
He was one of the LCUK people who thought the Club would benefit greatly from the great PistonHeads 'experience', especially if we had our own 'area' as well as the main forum.
Some of us are still more than a little 'judgment reserved' in that respect but that's certainly no fault of Crikeymikey.
Mike was also one of the prime movers in trying to make Lamborghini Club UK a more independent and self-responsive club after events during 2006 threatened to make the Club just a business subsidiary of an individual who had to be levered out of his position within the Club with some excruciatingly precise actions.
Sadly, the net result of that has been a year when the self-starting skills of our Membership and their responses to getting the hard fought for 'freedom to choose' their own events and activities has usually been a continuance of the usual apathy and that very English 'blame-slinging'. Many Members prefer, as they seemingly always did, to find scapegoats for their perceived 'lack of activities' that cater just for them and which happen within a few drops of fuel from their homes.
But then, horses - bulls (!) - can be led to the water but clearly they can't be made to drink - even if the drinking comes free sometimes!
