So how many prototypes were there?

Ive been nosing through a few pictures on here and i think ive spotted atleast two that have the slits in the body , differant exhaust and the manual vents. I know that the Candy red one is the first but how many were there?

It wasn't i'm afraid.

Car number 1 MPH silver car '03 (the one with the bulbous rear valance) - basically it was a chopped about T350.
Car number 2 Silver Autotrader car
Car number 3 Candy car

The MPH'03 car was stripped in early 04 in order to become a body master from which moulds were taken to produce the silver car and candy (in that order). The silver car produced from the moulds then got written off and has since been rebuilt and shipped to Switzerland after being for sale on here. Here are the last pictures seen of the Silver car (not the MPH03 car!)...

thanks KMPowell, I always find these bits of history interesting. So after the apple red car, it went straight into full production?? Was the next one (number 4) the blue press car currently for sale...??

Nope, after Candy was built and tested it was decided to close the vents in the wings. Unfortunately they had already made some shells with the vents cut out so these were turned into some display (the red one on a 54 plate) and race (for the Sagaris racing series that never got off the ground!) cars. After that the first 'proper production' cars with the closed vents were produced - these were Mr Orange and Mr Blue (the one currently for sale).

Never realised but that car was registered right after my T350C by the looks of the plate. (Now on personalised plate though...)
