My dad owned the car after him for a couple of years (4.2 in a pinky-red colour), allegedly Peter Wheeler also owned it.

Was quite problem free if I remember rightly.

But it is true! Tvrs are pretty much as Kevin described.......and that's the whole point ain't it?

Lighten up guys, I adore my Cerb' and I always quip that it's more a hobby than a form of transport.

Same as Kevin, making light of it diffuses any derogatory comments.

We all know that TVRs can be tempramental beasts, but we love them, foibles and all. yes

Tale involving random operation of lights, wipers, (& horn?)....

Who else thought, "Yep, all steering wheel mounted, mate. Check your ribbon cable!"

(which I'm guessing he probably worked out for himself as he doesn't seem like a stranger to a screwdriver)

I agree with TT Tim, and unlike many pundits McCloud did actually own one, so he's at least qualified to pass comment - positive, negative, tongue in cheek or otherwise. I don't think he was saying anything worse than what has been seen on these forums many times before, and it made a refreshing change to have a mention about the car we all know and love, on the telly.

The chances of finding someone on camera, on a mainstream channel who will give the Cerbera a totally positive appraisal is remote. Undoubtedly that influences the public's perception about the cars but in reality who cares? When you own a Cerbera you have to accept it for what it is and take the rough with the smooth, the range of which will vary from owner to owner. If you don't, you will replace it.

Fuse related. We had the same issue once at scrutineering for Croft sprint... still got the car through though lol. wink

One fuse controls all of the things mentioned, lights, wipers, doors, radio, hazards and something else from memory. hehe Mickey mouse wiring, no one here can deny it - fair play to him for having the car amongst some fantastic machinary, I bet he still remembers it with fondness overall. smile

Kevin's favourite car is the Aston ! Aston's are well known for ' technical problems ' as often discussed on Top Gear , remember when Clarkson's had a gearbox malfunction . And Aston's aren't exactly cheap !!! No mention of that last night .laugh

Never laughed so much, I've an Alfa 156, wife drives a AudiA6 and the Cerb's used
as much as possible. I see myself doing a public service, I keep the top gear public from driving crap cars!!

True. TG always want to take the mick, even if they actually like the car.

But then none of that matters, because owning a Cerb is all about the heart.
It's a bit like owning a big puppy, I think. You think it looks cute, would be very loyal, protect the house and you imagine fun walks throwing sticks in the woods, and you get all that, but it costs a lot of money to keep, it still wants to wag its tail and play, even when you're tired and hungry and just want to get home and, just as you think you have it under total control, it bites the postman, craps all over the new carpet and chases next doors cat up a tree.

But you still love it wink

Only saw 10 minutes of Top Gear, but fortunately it was this bit!

Made me laugh - I can relate to what he said. And he didn't say it with malice. I thought that it was great that out of all those cars he owned, it was the Cerbera which was talked about. Which makes it special smile.

Earlier in the day at TiTT3, I lost my indicators (but I knew they'd be back! wink) and another Cerbera arrived at the meet point asking if he could go in the middle of the group until his lights came back! laugh

A Cerbera spices up even the most routine journey. I love them smile.

Exactly what I thought. Up crops his love of V8s and I'm thinking "wonder if he had a Cerb." When he said he did I thought, would be great if he said something about it - and he did.

Sure they're a bit flawed but isn't every genius?

Yup, had the same thing happen to me, I thought the car was possessed!

Luckily I was only a mile from home, but it was an interesting drive back wink
