just bought my donor car
Discussion
I am in N Hants and had an STI type RA donor with FMIC and different gearbox with a longer 5th. New adjustable suspension, seats, wheels, tyres etc. and 2.5l with switchable map and Adrenaline are building it for me.
I don't know exactly how much it all costs cos I have not kept track (I am so cr@p at that kind of thing which probably explains why I now have less than no cash!) but it has got to be about mid 30k's.
Lesser spec would be cheaper and build your own even less. Complete kit car built one for about £20k I recall (open to correction there). If you have not been in one blag a go - will blow your soxs AND pants off!
Neil may have some input to this.

drove the factory demo rally car on tuesday night, i think its only 270 bhp but it goes very well, could drive it 'properly' as it was dark/wet and kept having to rag the windscreen down as it has not heater to demist so was looking out of a small section all the time, especially liked it when i was 4 wheel snaking a little, fun car, cant imagine how quick it would be with 350 bhp thats what i am going to aim for
as for them going bust, you can never tell but as i understand they are very busy and have a 3 month waiting list for the kits
1st priority is to rebuild my engine/get a new one may even get the brakes and wheels that i will ultimately use on the murtaya then i can drive a half decent scoobie for a while whilst i save up for the kit, turnkey car would be less hastle but love the idea of building it myself (maybe not the engine though)

Yep, that's right. Our car cost £21,000 to build (not including labour which, if you're building it yourself, you won't count anyway!). To achieve that, we used as much as possible from a standard WRX STi donor, but could stretch to a decent metallic paint job and a nice interior. There's a piccy of it here: http://completekitcar.co.uk/latestissue.html

Hi guys,
I can answer a couple of points raised here (hope you don't mind me jumping in!).
Performance wise we had one of our demo cars independently timed at Silverstone last year. Running just on 330bhp it recorded 3.5seconds to 62mph using standard suspension, transmission and Toyo T1 road tyres.
As for the financial comments, I do not think that this was aimed at us, more a general comment. We are doing very well having enjoyed an excellent year and we are in the fortunate position of enjoying a healthy forward order book for both factory built cars and kits so we have no worries on that front.
December looks like it is going to be a good month for us with people buying themselves Christmas presents as just this week we have sold one factory built car and two kits!
We have some exciting announcements lined up for the next couple of weeks regarding several motorsport programmes for 2009 which are being run by the factory for some very talented drivers in different disciplines so keep a look out for more news as we move through December.
We will be showing the car at Autosport International again in January and I hope that we may see many of you there.
Regards,
Neil.
