Audi cab final edition 2.8 and scuttle shake?

Hi all,
had a test drive in the above car and had my first experience of scuttle shake. My mechanic also did a test drive and noted one front wheel bearing on its way out which may/may not be causing the problem to be worse than normal, but as he says "they all do that a bit".
Im told when you drive them enough you kinda get used to it but coming from my Porsche 944 it was a bit of a concern, I thought there was something very wrong with the car!
Its also running a set of "made in China never heard of the make" tyres. Not sure if they upset the ride. Any owners out there can shed some light on owning one of these cars ?

I'd be interested in the reponse to this too...as I've been having a bit of a nosey at them too recently.

According to the info on autotrader, the 2.6 doesnt seem much slower than the 2.8 but is much more economical (in auto form). Is this true?
