I'd like to know who's estimates the 40,000 are. Sounds like alarmist crap to me.

Know a couple of doctors, they would put it around 20-25,000 a year killed by hospital, whether it is general blunders or acquired infections.. But, and this will come as a shock, so you might want to sit down, they don't always tell the truth on the death forms so the stats look better......

They said on breakfast TV this morning that not wearing a seatbelt kills twice as many as speeding.

Evidently we need more cameras in hospitals then. Perhaps some 'average illness' cameras, or a couple of GATSOs outside 'high-risk' wards?
