Got home from Work on saturday night to find x2 letters from the DVLA.
Story is i was pulled over about 6mths ago in a village next door to mine Me and T5 passed in opposite directions i was doing about 38mph when out of nowhere the T5 thta i had passed was right us my exhaust, Flashed his blues at me so i got out the car as asked him what the problem was to which he proceeded to rip to pieces even though he culd see i was clearly upset it was 11pm and i just wanted to go home and egt in bed, He checked my tyres, my tax, my reg and also checked that i had a full licence. which all of course where the correct legal limit all correct details, he then Breathalised me AND a sabrority test at the road side. whe i had passed the so called "tests" he then gave me a producer which i was happy to follow through with.
HOWEVER!!!
This is where i dropped a big b
k i lost the producer and in loosing it i didn't produce because i totally forgot about it. then about 4weeks ago i rcv a letter from Cheshire Constabulary giving me a court date or a choice to send in mitigation and they will decide my fate for me. Now what confusses me is that surly they can't ask you to appear in court 6mths after the offence was committed.
I wrote to the courts apologised perfusly for my actions and that i was unable to attend on the day due to work commitments, so as i said earlier x2 letters when i got in from DVLA i now have 3 points.
what is the time limit (if there is one) before a case has to be brought before the courts or written off????

Should be in SP&L but.
They have 6 months to lay the information at court, the summons can be any time after.
You can wite back and in mitigation send copies of the insurance, MOT and driving license (basically any thing that you were asked to produce)
You may still get summonsed for failing to produce however but its worth a shot.
You will need to evidence what you did when you lost the paperwork, ie not saying "i lost it so didnt bother to goto the station within the 7 days and produce anyway without the paperwork"
You can also produce at court!

+1I hate to say it but that was an absolutely monumental error on your behalf. Surely if getting pulled by the fuzz left you that flustered it would have stuck in your memory somewhat?
I believe they can take you to court if you fail to produce your documents as you may as well admit you don't have an MOT or insurance certificate. You'll have to prove that you do and did at the time of the offence, as long as you're honest about what happened and explain your circumstances, however unbelievable they may be hopefully you'll get cut some slack.

...especially when it apparently was such a traumatic experience (why on earth did you get out of the car particularly at 11PM at night?).I'm also bemused by writing to the court and telling them you were a bit busy.

Well i remember folding it up a putting it in the door pocket so I DIDN'T forget but as i have got out the car it must have flown away or something and with everything else that was going on at the time i just forgot. I know its my fault and it was a really dumb thing to do but i was just curious as to what the limits where from the day offence is committed to being informed to appear at court.

I have so far managed to avoid responding to any threads posted by this wuckfit, however it's got so boring. If you're going to troll, make it entertaining, make up a story with even a little bit of interest. You need to research your persona a bit more and come up with something that gives you more of an edge, because right now you're as blunt as the spoon I'm using to gouge my eyes out after reading your drivel.
