Woooo First car well excited not long had my little mini and learning 2 drive
i was just wondering what are the best modifications you can do to a 1982 MINI HL
i have a set of 4 inch arches and soon 2 buy some nice wheels any other
modifications you can suggest will be apreciated

as you are learning for insurance purposes i wouldnt be going too mad with mods just yet.

as you say wheels and arches always make the most impact, personally id avoid minilites and go for something a bit different!

other things i recommend are making sure the brakes are in tip top condition, then make sure all the suspension is sorted, the minis best feature is the handling so getting this tweaked makes a huge difference. dont need to go too over the top though ensure theres no play in any of the ball joints, maybe a nice set of adjustable lower arms and tiebars so it can be set up just right and make sure the rubbber cones are in good condition and not sagging.

engine wise a nice tuneup ideally on a mini friendly rolling road will ensure its running perfectly, then maybe a nice stage 1 kit from the likes of somerford mini if you can stretch that far to give it a bit more power and a nice sporty note!
