Hi,

My 93 mayfair has suffered intermittent headlight issues for a while now, but it seems worse after a front end rebuild. I know the problem is down to the bullet connectors behind the grille, but i'm an electrical numpty. Does anyone have a photo of how the wiring should look? I know which wires are which:

Earth is the Black wires
Sidelights are Red/Red with Green
Headlights are thick Blue with Red
Main Beam thick Blue with White

I've pulled the connectors apart to clean them up, but i'm not sure i've connected them properly. Wiring diagrams/ voltemeters baffle me.........

I have sidelights, and man beam/ and flash working, but no dipped beam at all. Thanks.

Buy a cheap circuit tester. They are just a 'screwdriver' with a lamp in the transparent handle and a wire with a croc clip on the other end. Undo all of the light wires and clip the tester clip to a good earth. Switch the lights onto dip and test to see which wire is 'live'. That is the one to the bulb dip terminal. Repeat with the others in turn then you know that you have current to each setting and that the correct wires are identified.
Electrics frighten a lot of people, but with a simple circuit tester most electrical problems on a Mini are easily sorted.
