How much do you spend on your OH at Xmas?

Is it just me, or the older you get do you seem to end up spending more and more cashola on the other half? She is wanting an Xbox 360 this year, and a few other bits, so pushing towards the 400 quid mark now. Yes, I can afford it, but am I just being a mean spirited by feeling as if it should be something a few hundred poundage cheaper?

I think it really depends on what she wants at the time. Some years i have spent upwards of 5 hundred pounds, other years £150 gets her what she really desires.

Blimey, I've been told by my GF not to buy her anything this Christmas as she doesn't need anything. So, since I always do as I'm told, I've bought her a few items of clothing and some perfume. If I spent £400 on her she would kill me.

We have set a budget of £50 as shes off to the clothes show, and theres nothing we want so would prefer to save the cash for holiday next year. Not alot to spend i know, but if you dont want alot then its fine. Someone i know has a family agreement to spend £2 on each other. Says its a good laugh and makes it fun rather than a chore.

How much varies considerably depending on what she wants, this year around 130 on a main gift plus a few smaller items, other years have been more.

If you can afford it 400 doesn't seem excessive.

As newly weds who are rennovating our fist house this seemed like the most sensible option!

You can't ask your OH to tell you what she wants. Buying presents is supposed to be about showing that you've really thought about what the person would like.

the amount I spend on her varies significantly, but having just spent megabucks on a new bed, she's just getting a new lipstick this year.

Last year £150. I already spend a fortune on her as she's a poor student so that is more than enough. We have a £50 limit with the rest of the family otherwise it can get silly, and none of us really 'need' anything.

If you think it's too much then say so, although to be fair if my GF asked for an Xbox 360 I'd be very happy!

ETA: I agree with Zod though, I never request anything and neither does she.

we popped 'up town' on Sunday for Mrs Tee to choose some boots for Christmas.

Half an hour and £700 later we left!!
