Grad present

My folks have said they want to buy me a graduation present, they've said they have one or two ideas of their own but have asked me to have a think myself too. Anyone have any suggestions? I believe we're talking in the region of ~£500.

I was going to suggest a watch but tbh £500 is a bit light for a reasonable swiss watch (Omega/Breitling/IWC etc). Nice fountain pen? Cufflinks?

I agree with the watch idea. You can get a nice Oris for that money or less, or a pre-owned Tag.

To be fair, this is not quite the same as saying 'if you pass the exam, we will buy you X' which in its simplest terms is bribery - an approach New Labour seems to favour. It's more of a 'well done' pat-on-the-back. Though as i recall from graduation days, my dad bought me a pint and that was it. Mind you, we never got on that well.
