the work involved in getting an EVO to do the 1/4 mile in those times is massive! also the R+D and setup must have taken ages.

then there are the little differences to the way thius evo have been built compears to the very fast Evos built in the UK and US. most of them stick to a conventional front end where as the guys from Oz and srounding areas are using spaceframed font ends.

then there is the driveterain. how the helldo they get the car to go that fast with over 900bhp at the wheels and keep the gearbox together?? Norris Designs SWB Evo 9 had problems even with full race (read stupidly exspencive) gearboxes. he has now switched to a north south engine configuration using a Skyline running gear.

I,m really sorry but I have to agree with cheesesliceking. Evo's are everywhere, someones was always going to make one super quick somewhere, now its happened, but its not exciting.....yawn !

Oh I understand, I've been drag racing for 35 years. A 7 second family saloon is creditable but still sloooooooooooooooooow

Slow compared to a 4 second fuel pass, but let's be serious here, this is a 4 pot SWB 4 door saloon.. It's fast!

My apologise for my poor English ! It sounded right when I typed it. I am a huge fan of drag racing and have been since the early 70's, I have been TO drag racing , but never competed. And trying not to belittle this guys achievment, that is a quick time for a 4 pot SWB 4 door saloon but as a spectacle or achievment I personally do not find it "exciting ". Fini.

It's amazing, I love the R&D that goes into building single second drag cars from showroom performance cars, as to me top fuel dragsters are boring...as they are purposely built for dragging and with 6000hp I expect them to be quick.

i agree vtec daddy. clearly all these guys putting this car down run 7 second passes in their dail driven cars....or know of 3000bhp scoobies running 5second 1/4mile times!

sorry but 7.97 is still only a 8 secind car..

not really intereste in 1/4 mile times, prefer a fast track car.

in my book given the right moeny anyone can make the car fast in a sraight line. but making them stop and handle is a different ball game

But citroens are great Get a grip man fantastic achievement for anybody getting a sub 8 second car no matter what marque it is.
