Would PH be better off without the P&P

Fairly simple one this. I've been wondering for some time now if the P&P is a good or bad thing for PH.

Sometimes I think it's great, really helpful / interesting people with some genuinely interesting thoughts and comments which can lead to fantastic debate and some great threads.

Or sometimes I just get bored of the same old type of comments, as soon as anything remotely based around relationships / appearance or anything along those lines you can guess where the thread is going to go.

Outside of the P&P most of the threads are of the former, but within the P&P you can dismiss a lot of what is said in there, even before it's been said.

Discuss...


Edit to add:
1) I don't dislike the P&P, I use it a fair amount
2) I know I've posted in the P&P but wanted to get the views of those who didn't use the P&P, which would seem odd, but if I put this post anywhere else it would have been moved. I'm hoping that the people who check the 'What's New' link will see it and comment.
3) I'd like to hear the point of the view from the 10% who voted yes we would be better off without it.
4) I voted no...

I'm not saying that the P&P must be removed now and burn in internet hell, but just sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. Most of the time I do, but as one mod said to me 95% of the issues they face would go if the P&P wasn't here.

Some of the funniest things ever to grace the internets have come from the P&P. Like with most chat room type arrangements on the internet there needs to be a place for people to talk st. Also it can be a source of information and experience. It'd be nice to have a serious and non-serious bits so if you had something important to ask you could & vice versa.

I like and read and post in the P&P.

However, I know of plenty of PHers who refuse to read what goes on in here as they think it's childish. What I was hoping to get was the comments of those people who don't care too much for the P&P.

Of course there is going to be plenty of support for the P&P otherwise it wouldn't have 2 million plus posts in it.

What I was trying to get at was the point of view from those who don't often post in here (I'm hoping they might see it under 'What's New') rather then just a succession of posts calling me stupid
