VY Dash in VX

One of the things I would like to do is update my dash in the VX with the Digital one out of a VY, Does anyone know if this has been done before or any links to details about this?

I would suggeset that the BCM would be different, that will drive the display and would doubt that the older BCM would do that. Wiring loom might also be different. Check out ls1.com.au someone there will know for sure.

Is it actually called a VY dash? not something like a gen III etc..?

I am guessing you mean the 3 window dashes for the VT and VX cars??? They were available on the HSV cars and the upmarket Holdens (Calais, Statesman)

I have the top one in my VTII SS....the speedo goes higher than a normal Holden one. I believe you have to get the dash reprogrammed. There is some wierd thing with them to do with being over 100km on the dash, you cannot reset it or that used to be the case before the "tuning" programs came along.
Other colours were available from the early Monaros, like Yellow and green.

The cheapest 3 window ones to get are the Calais ones, they only come in Auto though and 220kmh speedo and I think blacky/grey only.

Of course if you have a later 2004/05 Monaro then this is all irrelevant. I couldn't find your car as the search thingy is mis-behaving.

After speaking with Roger though it looks like mega surgry would be needed to it would be inpractical

Yes would involve a lot of effort changing the whole dash over including the centre too.
