Diablo max speed on Autobahn, Autocar 1992
Discussion
I have a copy of Autocar magazine, February 1992 in which a Diablo was taken to Germany for a vmax run. They clocked 201.4 mph
For those who have never read it before here it is:

Good article.
There is also a good one by Chris Harris about a continental trip in a Murcielago and Focus ST.
The best by far though is the 70's Lambo road trip about collecting a new Countach, Urraco & Silhouette from the factory and driving them back http://www.autocar.co.uk/blogs/greatestdrives/arch...

BTW. That actual Diablo, was recently sold for just £25000.
A good friend of mine went to look at it. He said that it was taxed and MOTd and drove well, but needed paint, the interior tidying and a few more odds and ends.
I wonder if the new buyer realises what a significant car, he has bought.
reminded me (once again) just how very 'involved' with the Lamborghini marque in the UK Del Hopkins was - is!!!
I have to call him soon and will try and get his recollections of the time, that is if the winter chills (ha!) near where he lives in Spain haven't caused him to slide off the roads again...
Ace article, just goes to show how fast the original spec. Diablo was in the right hands!

on a two lane road....
the 31 is a great bit of road, at the time it was two seperate parts, a big unfinished stretch in the middle (they only finished it a few years ago) so it had much less traffic in those days
a few more trucks on it these days, a lot of car transporters actually, heading towards the ports at Emden i suppose (and porsche boxsters coming in from there, from Finland)
