Low voltage halogen lights on two "exposed" wires

a) Know what I'm on about and;
b) know if it's possible to buy these to a bespoke length and number of lights?

do you not buy them as a kit - fixing points for the ends with clamps for the wires, halogens clamp to the wire wherever you want them? rooms tend not to be fixed widths so they would be a bugger to sell otherwise......................

How long a run do you need? Most max out at about 5m

5m might be enough...

Additionally, I'm looking to follow a curve with them. Essentially, I want them to run the length of the bar, at beam height. The bar consists of approx. 7' straight bit then 90 degree turn then another 12' (all approx). It can curve or diagonal-ise the 90 degree bit.

The reason is, the ceiling is approx. 6' high at the beams so we can't have lights hanging another few inches below this as they'll be at eye level. Plus there is no void between the ceiling and the floor above. IYSWIM.

Hmm. That looks about right. Though is says "Length 4.5mm" - that's pretty short!

I don't know but that sounds sensible!! I assumed that they came as a fixed length kit and you bought the kit to suit.

IKEA do these kind of lights as well, at a pretty cheap price.

I girl I know fitted some of these herself. The kit was a transformer, 3 light fittings and a 10m run of wire. She missed out the bit in the instructions where you have to cut the wire.

Luckily her dad owned a rewinding business, so she got the transformer fixed for free.
