As above it is a diesel on 18inch wheels. Currently on P-Zeros,thinking of going for Goodyear GSD3 anyone any better ideas?
They are all around the 3mm + a bit mark so will need doing shortly, the disadvantage of getting a sport, my old SE was cheaper on rubber & it lasted longer!

Mrs JS has the earlier (GSD2) Goodyear F1s on her Pug GTI. They are stunningly good in the dry and give an almost unbelievable level of grip. They are fairly quiet on most road surfaces too. But, like most very low profile tyres on a light hard sprung car they are evil in the wet and give a ride that will shake your fillings out.

Have a look at Tyre Shopper or Black Circles - both these sites have links to tyre reviews

Years ago I used to run Goodyear Eagles on a succession of Cavalier SRIs.
As you say they gave great grip in the dry, but you could also get them to give good grip in the wet. I guess they used to need you to get some warmth into them. If you could drive hard over a short stretch of dry or dryish road they'd give good grip when you got back onto wet roads as long as you could keep motoring.
