What to do for 11 hours on an Aeroplane?

Lucky old me is off to the Maldives on Saturday, but what can I do to stop the boredom setting in on an 11 hour flight?

1. Going stir crazy is obviously the first thing
2. Spend hours trying to sleep (Waste of time, I never sleep on planes)

But what else? I'm looking for some good suggestions, or any tips that might help me actully sleep.

We fly with Singapore airlines, does anyone know if they have in flight movies, games etc?

My approach is generally a combination of work, read and sleep.

Yeah, lots of times.

Used be quite a nervy flyer, but have learnt to enjoy it.

Longest flight i've had before was to San Francisco. About 9 hours, drove me close to insanity, hence asking for good suggestions

9 Hours to san Francisco then was not from the uk. Takes 7 hours to new york. then about another 4-5 across the US?

Is it really that difficult?!

Ipod, magazine, laptop, couple of in flight films - 11 hours goes surprisingly quick, especially if you get 2 or 3 films nailed, then a few meals and before you know it you're 1 hour away from landing.

You're on Sinapore airlines. Fair chance of A380. PC in each seat with loads of (on demand start) films and TV, you can plug in an MP3/4 player and view movies from that on the display, view the holiday photos from your digital camera on the big display, write a word document, learn a language...

Singapore have very good on-demand TV/movies in the seatbacks. I managed OK just with that for the 24 hours to NZ right after the airport security alerts when were allowed no hand luggage at all - although it is a bit easier if you have a book, ipod or DS to break things up a bit.

Catch up on the recent movies you've missed, have a snooze, there'll be 2 meals as well - plenty to pass the time.

That's the kind of answer I was looking for. Now i'm actually almost looking forward to it.

Take a laptop with a DVD drive, some headphones and buy the box set of Family Guy.

You'll want to stay on the flight after it's landed to finish the series.

Read a book, or do what i did on the way to new york. Flick between the different channels all the way and repeatedly say to the person next to you "look how high we are now" and "ooh look the little plane just moved".

I just returned from Las Vegas.

Things to pass time included:

iPod, magazines, psp, watching the dark knight and blackadder on a low quality tv, watching drunk people get arsey with each other.
