Will it be WW2 or Modern Warfare? Or something else?

Personally I think that since they've managed the flamethrower in 5 and heli's in 4 they should maybe look at Vietnam...

Vietnam got played out a few years back with an absolute flood of games. Rumours were that it would be set in the future, so something along the lines of Ghost Recon's tech might be in order.

Battlefield Vietnam
Conflict: Vietnam
Men of Valor
Shellshock: Nam '67
Vietcong
Vietcong: Fist Alpha
Vietcong 2

All came out about 4 or 5 years ago and saturated the market so much that people got fed up of them, much like WW2 has done.

You may get another Vietnam based game at some point, but I think it's still too soon for most.

I'm surprised there aren't any WW1 games for the Xbox. I know it's a difficult War to glorify but there could be something in it.

Anything as long as it is not futuristic, can't be arsed with shooting someone with a blue blob of Alien st, i hate futuristic war games, no excitement. Halo has had 3 mins playing time on the 360 before i was bored.

You need proper guns.

Beyond how buggy it was and how crappy MP could be, BF2 & BF1942 were excellent.
Couldn't stand BF2142 though, that sort of futuristicy rubbish is a complete no go for me! frown

I think it should be set across the mid part of the 20th century based on a series of smaller flashpoints.

You could have:
Korea
The Bay of Pigs
6 Day War
Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan
Iranian Embassy Siege (perfect for re-introducing Sgt Price)

there are lots of things to choose from

Conflict Vietnam wasn't bad...played it up to the bit with the 'borrowed' Kilgore character which was impossible!

I'd definitely prefer a Vietnam game to one set in the future, as there haven't been any Vietnam games on the current gen consoles afaik.

As long as Infinity Ward are involved it should be decent

Why does a futuristic game have to involve aliens and ray-guns? Look at Splinter Cell or Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, both are set only a few years into the future, but there's more scope for cool 'proper guns' advanced armour and HUDs.

If anything I think that's where Infinity Ward would take any futuristic theme.

Why advanced Armour? It is not realistic, i shot you 10 time but you didn't die because you have some advanced armour on....wk.... but you should have died because my advanced proper gun that has not been invented yet fires special bulletts that go through your advanced armour and pierce your skin...ahh but my skin is this new advanced skin....

it's all bks, how can you know how much damage a gun that has been made up in your head would do? or that your advanced hud tells me what colour pants i have on and what my nans cat ate for dinner on Tuesday night.

Use real guns, that have been made in real life, we know how much damage an AK can make because we have seen it on the BBC.

Keep it simple, with normal guns (there are a lot of them) that fire normal bullets and let's leave the talen up to the players, ala Cod4.

WW1 would be quite good also, or really old with muskets and stuff, that would be fun.

Have you ever played GR:AW in your life? We're talking COD4 style weapons cranked up to the hilt, 50 caliber counter-sniper rifles that will punch through walls to take out sneaky campy bar stewards, guns with camera mounts so you can hold one out over a wall or round a corner and shoot at people whilst in (relative) safety.

Helmets with the viewpoints of your fellow soldiers included in the HUD so you can see what your team are seeing and co-ordinate attacks with them.

I'm not talking about bullet-proof Master Chief style armour or wacky guns, but real tech that is being developed right now.

Even if it was set a few years in the future the guns would still be AKs...pretty much the Porsche 911 of guns!

The Falklands conflict could be interesting....The battle of Goose Green, Mt Tumbledown etc.

Although I think there is still a bit too much political interest in this for it to happen anytime soon.
