I was looking for a Land Rover Discovery around 2001-2003 for about 5-6grand. Every one I went to view/test drive ended up having major flaws which I couldnt accept/didnt want to worry about big repair bills...
Si I've decided to use my range rover and just slap some good offroad tyres on - 255/55R19 Goodyear MTR . Terrain will be wet muddy slippery marsh land and these seem to be the only tyres available for my old 19inch rims. (Currently have 24inch lexani's on which will come off and throw into storage til summer).

I've tried absolutely everywhere maybe 20 plus companies and nowhere has them in stock/even has a decent estimated time they would have them in stock ... howver 'need payment upfront' to start the ball rolling....heh...not in this day and age!

Can anone recoomen d me or suggest anywhere?

Hmmm, tricky one...

In all honesty, if I were you, I'd get a set of 16" steel rims and some tyres that will give you a similar rolling radius. 255/55R19's are about 30" in diameter I think.

265x75R16 are just over 31.5". If those are a bit too big then 255/70R16's are pretty much bang on 30".

And I bet BFG MT's with steel wheels included will be cheaper than than the unusual size tyres!

I used these guys a couple of weeks ago: http://www.tyrexpress.com/index.aspx They delivered to my local tyre shop within two days and the chaps there plopped the tyres onto my spare set of rims during luchtime.

Great Range Rover tyre, if a touch noisy on tarmac...

Edit to add: you won't get a 16" rim on a Supercharged Range Rover! If the link I've given above are out of stock then these guys are still showing some: http://www.tyretraders.com/ (Turn your sound off, there's an annoying opening page)

I can't help with finding them, however my experience with MTR's says they don't work well in the mud.

It kinda suits as they aren't a mud terrain, the MT stands for "Max Traction Radial". Guys in Oz and the USA seem to get on better on rocky or clay surfaces with them. But I've seen many a LR on them in the UK really struggle in the mud.

Maybe buy some new rims and some cheaper tyres. MTR's are pricey, even for more normal sizes, 19" ones would cost a lot.

Some 16" proper mud tyres would work better and give you a decent sidewall too.

http://www.sowdentyres.co.uk/greenway-tyres.html The Macho is a good all round tyre. Also well priced.

At the risk of repeating myself, you won't get 16" rims onto a L322 Range Rover, let alone a Supercharged RR (which is the car listed in the op's profile). I doubt if 18" rims will fit over the Brembo brakes of a Supercharged RR so tyre choice is limited.
Of the off road tyres avaialable for the L322, the MTR is the best of the bunch and the car's electwonic twickerwy combined with the MTR's tread pattern make a useful upgrade.

Can't help with sourcing them I'm afraid (our local independent did that for us). But we've just fitted these tyres to our L322 Range Rover and they're very competent in the mud and not as noisy as I'd have expected on tarmac. They do seem to be the only AT/MT available in 19" size sadly - if you've got the spare cash, source some 20" Land Rover alloys off ebay and then you'll have a much greater choice of tyres to play with...

Did not think there was a problem, went into my local tyre Co, ordered 2 last Monday morning and delivered and fitted by Tuesday PM.
