I still can't believe they actually thought it *might* even work and they'd get their £50,000.

To be honest, they'd have been better off committing fraud. Less of a nasty prison, less of a sentence. Probably let off to look after Charddonay, Tyrone et al.

Less nasty in prison (I assume, never been) but I wouldn't be on less of a sentence. Benefit fraud is the exception, if you screw a big business they get big lawyers to make sure it doesn't happen again.
