Good old managment directives, a step too far?

A few months back I was told that under no cirmcumstance was I allowed to take the 993 to site or client meetings as it portrays an image that we earn too much money.

I grinned and beared this one, whilst I don't agree with the reason I can see the point.

Managing partner walks passed this morning and said to me that I have to buy a £20 as my watch gives the wrong image.

Currently waiting for a list of non-approved watches to land in my in box

I always used to take my watch off when out selling as I didn't want to come across as too flash. People get very jealous about Timex' you know.

I've got an A3 whick I bought to go to meetings in but somedays you just want to use the P&J

I was told that I had to have a car which is representative of the company, which is why I get a co car allowance

if I couldn't afford one they'd hire me a car...
