IS IT ORIGINAL ?????????? calling all purists !!!!!!!!!!
Discussion
I have an early 4.0 (250bhp model) griff,
Its in its original monza red with full black leather trim, but i hate the black trim and you can respect it is now looking dated as its getting towards 17 yrs old, and i want to go to cream leather with deeper red/burgundy trimmings and stitching, does this upset the purists out there or can they appreciate when new, the any colour any spec you like sir!!!!!!!
Otherwise it will stay totally standard as it left 'bristol avenue'

Apparently no two cars could be the same as the ammount of options on trim/colour etc when built was vast...... who's to say what is original in any of the cars that are now getting on a bit in age,retrims/resprays are common and to be expected, its your car,so do what ever takes your fancy and enjoy it

For what its worth, I'd stick to black, but I have a deep hatred for cream interiors, all the ones I have seen look dirty after 6 months, and look like a wIts in its original monza red with full black leather trim, but i hate the black trim and you can respect it is now looking dated as its getting towards 17 yrs old, and i want to go to cream leather with deeper red/burgundy trimmings and stitching, does this upset the purists out there or can they appreciate when new, the any colour any spec you like sir!!!!!!!

es boudoir but thats just me...........sorry
I'd get rid of the slow red paint first - add 29 BHP by painting it green, Cooper Green.
I've seen few 'original' cars, SI 4.3's being a prime example, but the most of us have changed whatever we fancy. Clearly neons and strobes are a bit too far in my book but almost anything else goes. If you like it, do it. You can always change it back if it's that much of a problem. There may be issues if you come to sell it, but most people buying a seventeen year old car would expect a few changes/modifications/improvements along the way.

Totally agree.
But the beloved Bristol Ave trim ladies spent countless hours matching particular pieces of walnut to specific colours of leather apparently ???????
