I've been quoted by the lad that did my wheels, he's going to put 2 large tins on the underside of the VXR and total cost (including the tins) is £80! Sounds good to me. Anyone else in the Newcastle area could also have theirs done too.
I have the ramps in my garage, you're welcome to come over and have food at mine whilst he does the underseal too.
Nice warm garage, radio, internet in the garage too!

LEts put this into context, a decent job costs in the hundreds not the tens. Save your money and go somewhere that knows what they are doing. Can you recommend someone who is not an old cock?
yes unfortunately he is based in the southwest so a bit far for the travel, he quotes around 4 to 600 dependant on job but its about as thorough as you will get
Well your opinion is based on not knowing "the cock" I went to for my wheels, he charged me £140 to refurb all my wheels, paint them gloss black, balance and polish.
They're mint, so if his prices relate to the level of work he's produced so far than I'm happy to go back and pay bottom dollar and receive the same level of sh*t service he gave me last time!
Stigmund, I know what you're saying, however paying more does not always result in getting a better service. Sometimes things are just a good deal, I will be getting it done. I wasn't trying to say he's the Picasso of underseal, I simply stated that he's willing to rust protect your car (maybe not perfectly or as good as a £600 job) and by undersealing to his ability won't force the car to rust any quicker!
That depends, you're really need someone that knows what they're doing, knows the car's weak spots etc. With cavity wax injection (which is what you want) you don't just dab on a bit of underseal and hope for the best.
I would ask either Roger or Mark to get it done for you. I've had mine done by the latter; he takes it to a body shop around the corner and they've done loads of Monaros. Costs about £350.

There are several key areas that are most prone to corrosion. Main chassis legs at the front in particular and the lap joint on the back of the sills. Also the front jacking point to leg join and the area around the rear subframe front mounts.
We have done a few, but i think where ours differs considerably from what most people do, is that we seal up the seams, ie the lap joints that are spot welded, with a 2K seam sealer. This is basically the stuff used on most modern cars, in particular those from the VW/Audi/Skoda stable. The rubbery stipple like stuff that is blathered everywhere on VW's. It stays permanently flexible but sticks like nothing else. Once this is done, which requires a fair degree of cleaning first, along with removal of the front bumper all wheelarch liners etc, then the more conventional treatments are applied.
Look at most older HSV's and you will see corrosion starting in the lap joints. Whilst chucking some underseal over these is a big step up from nothing that Vauxhall put on, its a long way from perfect. Just look at a few older VW/audi that are 10 years old plus. Invariably no rust.
Undersealing i am in the process of doing my monaro, ive striped the complete back end off to the gear box.Looking to seem seal first,i was wonder if monkfish could give me the name of the 2k sealer, wondering what products to use.Dinitrol 4941 or 4942 a friend of mine works for audi merc in the body shop and he said seam seal first and coat with teroson super 3000 stone chip is as good as anything ? any advice appreciated.

No i was not that's why i asked for picks.
I wonder what made a Noble driver from another forum come on here and act like such a twunt. Obviously has never driven a Monaro and therefor has no concept of what a great car it is underneath the Vauxhall badge. The plonker
Did you ever find out where your old Monaro went?
Monkfish, can you post any diagrams on the likely rust spots on the Monaro..
I rust proofed mine but did not remove the bumpers,(every thing else mind) have I missed some important areas? mines a keeper so I need to know..
Not sure about the sealant mind, I suspect you might trap water inside! or have I missed something as usual?
one last point the rear interior trim is it difficult to remove in order to get to the inside of the wheel arches ect?
Thanks again...
