Terry Wogan (and his bottle of whisky) was what made that show hilarious, compulsive viewing. Now we'r going to have lack-lustre camp commentary to go with the lacklustre camp performances. Damn it.

I think this will be the end for Eurovision. Terry Wogan made Eurovision entertaining for years, even (especially!) when the songs were bad, and many of the people who watched it did so for his amusing comments as much as for the music. But Graham Norton doesn't have that following that Wogan has. And he's actually not funny either, no matter what he might think. I mean, his quote says it all: "a combination of cheap vodka and a language barrier, what could possibly go wrong?" - could he make his first foray into Eurovision "wit" any more inane, FFS?!

People have been calling to an end to BBC "default" funding for the Eurovision for years now, ever since the Eastern Europeans started to take over. If the BBC has any sense, it'll start to listen.

Dont jump to conclusions too quickly - TW did say that he really didn't fancy it much anymore. A lot will depend on Nortons brief.

"Go out there and take the p1ss Graham" could be a ratings winner - he is rather good at (said) urine extraction.

It won't be the same without Wogan. However, don't dismiss Graham Norton. I find him crude and annoying on TV, but he comes across much better on Radio 4, so hopefully his commentary will be more in that style.

It's not about what he thinks, it what you think. You don't find him funny I and many others do. Which "people" have been calling for an end to Eurovison? Certainly not the viewers of the show. It gets a huge audience. Not me, I think it's pants but if others want to watch good luck to them.

Just the fact that a British broadcaster seems to think that the Irish perhaps are best suited for reporting on this event.

Terry Wogan said at the end of the last one that he didn't feel he could do anymore because it is obvious that it wasn't fun for him anymore. He's always acepted that rigged voting occurred but not to the extent it does now. It's ashame but I have nothing against Graham Norton doing it.
