Not quite "bloom", more "blum" - slightly shorter "oo" sound. And then kvist.

I had a bit of a play with google last night but didn't come up with anything. Hell, I even found a website with the pronunciations of a whole load of Swedish names - except the one I was looking for. Sods law!

That's about as good as an English speaker can pronounce Blomkvist/Blomqvist/Blomquist, which are all pronounced the same in Swedish

But I heard some BBC geezer on 5 live yesterday pronounce it as:

contra-versy

Hard to write this one! Sort of like Mare (as in female horse) + sk. But with a Danish 'r', not a British one. Er.

However, the word controversy is a different aspect - ie this issue is steeped in controversy.
