...their Monaro? I remembered a news article the other year on him, thought he was a member? Wonder if now in retrospect it still feels like the right decision?

lol, but look at the people who got a loan or normal car finance at over 10% Apr or even highter but the guy who borrowed on his house is only paying 2% now. he might be the one laughing now
I paid cash for mine so im not in that boat.

Paying 15% for 5 years is much cheaper than paying 5% for 25. Much much cheaper.

I was on the telly about a year ago on a BBC documentary "How Rich Is Britain" & stated that I re-mortgaged for c £50k to mod my HSV, how do I feel about it now, good because the car is worthless from a re-sale perspective which means I can keep it without feeling guilty in this recession LOL

Have you heard of a concept called "capital repayment", sensible people sometimes use it during good years in preparation for the bad smile
