Passenger side window refusing to raise

There is still power there and it doesn't seem jammed or anything but having taken the door cover thingy off and tried to push it up I have reached the limit of my ability.

Any ideas before I ring Power and waste a day there and back to fix something simple ?

Is it stuck 1/2 way up? Mine has started doing this if the door is shut a bit too hard - for some reason the sensor that tells if the door is closed doesn't always work, and so the window refuses to go up fully.

Re-closing the door normally sorts it, although I suspect I'll need to fix or replace the switch at some point.

Mine have been slow to raise, but have always raised. The issue with mine (which I'm still trying to resolve) is that the runner rubbers have perished and I need to replace them. Any ideas where to get them? I've looked in all the usual TVR parts website but no-one lists them. I must admit I have'nt called anyone yet and asked them directly though. I'm guessing they are a fairly standard item (all cars? most cars? or at least some cars?) so shouldn't have to go with TVR prices.

Remember reading somewhere that Ford Focus mk1 rubber works, but can't confirm this from experience.

I've always had a slow passenger window and just put it down to partly corroded connections.

There's been discussion about this last week sometime. I think it's something to do with a faulty sensor that thinks the window is up when it isn't.

The fix suggested cleaning all the connectors behind the window switch and in the door.

I've had the same problem though and a fiddling about process of closing the door, alarming the car, opening it again, alarming the car with the door open, closing the door, repeating again several times, leaving it alone for a few hours, trying various of the above again and it eventually sorted itself out and went up OK.

Gotta love high tech electronics. What the hell was wrong with a good old fashioned rocker switch anyway (OK, probably something to do with the windows going up and down automatically when opening and closing door, alarming car etc but does seem a complex solution....)

Just to square the circle again, as they say.

I took the poor, cold, girl to Power yesterday and they took the door to bits, took the glass out and ran a bit of sandpaper over the connection to the motor, oiled the mechanism, refitted the glass and the door card and it now works a treat.

They also had the bonnet and a panel off to find the tube had come off the bottom of the washer bottle and put a new bolt at the bottom of the quarter bonnet.

All for 1 hours labour (took far longer than that) and at a moments notice.

Top job and big thanks to Power (the rebuilding work is coming along sharpish after the fire, even if the heating isn't working yet !)
