98 ford fiesta under bonnet

I've got a problem with the cloth that is attached to the underside of the bonnet. It's drooping down and getting in the way of all the engine gubbings (technical term).

Can't I just remove it of does it serve a higher purpose?

I think it's just sound insulation, when i had a Focus mine had it but my dads didn't, can't say it caused any problems.

Halfords do 8 trim screws that should fit that perfectly. About 80p

thanks eveyone, I pined it up with a bit of string for now but will go to halfods when I can be bothered, I've got bigger issues at the mo!

Bit of glue? Or duct tape?

Remove it, it doesn't really serve a huge purpose.
