Just a simple future look but you obviously get paid every two weeks, so how do you manage bills etec that come out of a 4 week pay instead of a two week pay?

Fortnightly pay is quite common in Australia but rare, bordering on unheard-of in the UK.

Why would it matter?

Most of America smile
For budgeting think two deposits a month, then you will have two three payday months a year when you have a little extra.

It can take a little getting use to more because the pay days are day oriented not date, so a bill due on say the twelth of every month may at times be inconvenient if the pay is Thursday the 14th. It'll be ok next month thoughbiggrin

I went to weekly pay earlier this year for a contract, it was a lot harder to budget on when you have been used to 1 big sum on the same day every month for years

Why though? You're 'monthly' wage is still the same, you just get it at different intervals.

Its just I find it much easier. I have all my outgoings on the 1st of the Month and as it took a few weeks for the payments to start being made. Also when you know you are going to be paid in a few days you tend to act (well I did) ah I'll buy it now and replace money later, then repeat.

Not quite true, you will get 1/13th of annual salary on most months.
(and 3/26ths on two months)
I do payroll on a fortnightly basis BTW

Are you suggesting you get less salary when you are paid fortnightly? A salary of 40,000 is 40,000 paid daily, monthly, or weeksly. It doesn't matter.

because say if i had large amounts of my money going out as it would every month , on a pay of just half of a monthly pay, then i wouldnt have enough. All im asking is that are there ways in which you manage your money so that it can be spread evenly

I'm on fortnightly pay, I know what comes in, and what should go out.

My 'spend' goes off into a seperate account, leaving money to cover bills and expenses in the 'wage paid in' account, plus a little extra for in case.

If your a total fktard with money then it won't work, as you'll spend one wage on bills, then be skint til the next paydate to have some spend, and the circle continues.

Erm... What do you do with the wage payment you had 2 weeks before?? You CAN use that to add onto the next wage payment to pay said bills with. Is it just me that thinks this is a thoroughly sensible notion?
