Exactly, let's assume a 50 year old should normally earn £37.5K - £75K. I know that's probably way too high for the average UK employee, but let's give it a go anyway.ETA: I wonder how many of the high-earners on normal hours started from scratch, vs those who may have started in 'the family firm', or have had other sources of wealth? I'd love to be in the 'much more, <30 hours' category!

It depends with me. My basic is £23k, but with the bit of overtime I tend to do, that can go as high as £30k. Same goes for my working hours. Officially, I on a 37 hour week, but if I'm lucky I can cut that down to less than 30. Either way, I've gone forthe my age and 30-50 hours bracket.
Does PH have a really skewed towards the top end readership, or are people engaging in an anonymous pissing competition?
Alternatively, are all the 'average' earners out there afraid of clicking the button that you'd expect to be clicked (based on UK average figures), even though it's an anonymous poll?

I think most of them are working during the day, not posting on PH! I earn around 4k a year 1/4 of my age but only work 16 hours part time a week because still at sixth form only just started but not a bad wage for my age in my opinion as most of my friends that work are on under 4 pound's an hour. My dad gets around 60k a year for about 40 hours a week perhaps a bit less not too bad but doesn’t exactly have a flash car or anything drives a new mondeo and we are pretty average family to be honest.

PH is a website primarily about performance cars and populated mainly by the 20-40 age bracket males.Alternatively, are all the 'average' earners out there afraid of clicking the button that you'd expect to be clicked (based on UK average figures), even though it's an anonymous poll?
I'd have been surprised if the percentages had shown anything other than they do currently.
