Has anyone seen the guy with the 911 that has been off the road for 700 days out of 4 years of ownership??

He has resorted to having a guy sign write on his car things like - More leaks than Wales, and 35 attempts to fix it and its still not right...

Jeez, that is bad news, at least we know that some Porsche dealers are not quite upto scratch as well

Read the article, the guys a twat. Sure he has had a couple of problems after the hood frame got bent on his 993 cab, but come on.

Basically the article said that Porsche could not see half the faults, nor the AA whom got called in as an arbitrator! But still he was insistant.

Bl**dy fool, nobody is going to want to buy it now. If he is so pi**ed off then whay did he not sell it??

He claims that he really really loved the car despite its faults..

But yes, the AA couldn't find some of the 'leaks' in the hood.. But then, that isn't to say that they are not there ?!?!

Here goes....Edited a bit mind...And typed in a hurry so excuse any typos..

Simon Clarks 71K Porsche should have been his dream car but it is driving him to distraction. He claims there have been 35 Separate Problems with the 911 Cabrio and it has spent 700 days being replaired in the 4 years he has owned it. He has not had a graphic artist paint the bonnet with 'Dream Car - Think again'. On the side it has 'nearly 700 days in a Porsche Garage, and still not right. FACT - 35 attempts in 4 years'

Many of the problems stemmed from water seeping in thru the roof, so he also has 'more leaks than wales' on it.. Other complaints include a broken door, the roof jamming several times and having to be replaced. The doors didn't shut properly and the rear window needed to be changed.
Mr Clark says he loves the car and it is a dream to drive but I decided to make my point to Porsche when they tried to Fob me off. I had had enough of the company and am simply trying to warn people about the problems. He bought it in 1998 (R-Reg) when it was an Ex Demo car and two months old.
The roof was crooked and had to be repaired, then a crack in the frame of the roof had to be fixed, but them Mr Clark claimed that created a problem with the electric hood motor. He also claimed the mechanics had left holes in the roof which caused some leaks.

He went to trading standards who advised him to send it back to Porsche, but he says he likes driving it so much that he wanted to keep using it.

A Porsche spokesman said ' We are aware of the Problems Mr Clark has claimed, and have been working with him to examine that issues. Independant engineers who looked at the car cannot find the faults which he is suggesting, and we have not tried to Fob him off'

Thanks for the report, 35 faults seems excessive, or is it 35 pinprick marks in the soft top???

If he likes the car so much why would he not want a brand new one from Porsche? It's not as if they are offering him a Ford Fukus!
