Been investigating the bespokes.com sports car club, basically £7k a year for 42 days driving of their various rental fleet, TVR's porsche ferrari etc.

I remember damon hill was involved in something similar but I've been trawling the web for his and other alternatives and have come up with nada

Any ideas out there?

Thanks

Damon Hill's venture is based in Leatherhead in Surrey and his website is www.p1international.com . I believe it's mega-expensive to join.

The other one that I know of is www.classiccarclub.co.uk

I used to deliver cars for Bespokes (I live 1/2mile from their Watford base). Good team, great cars. Particularly enjoyed their Griff 500, 4.2 E-type Roadster & HMC Mk4 (Healey 3000 replica - 3.9 Rover powered).

Thanks fella's! Knew I could rely on you lot!

PS, was on a track day at Elvington on Sat. (excellent venue) rained hard so plenty of slideways. see www.bookatrack.com then check the 'BAT Forum' and the 'Elvington Today' thread - then the 'James Bowers' - 'I am Goonicus' messages - some decent MPEG's (I'm in the S2000 BTW)

Cheers

As my 'fast' car has now gone I've been looking at replacing with a 911 or TVR. Doing sums on both, depreciation, list £, service etc. even paying cash means big losses after a year.
Also I usually want to change after 6 months but this is even more expensive! The carhire/share thing seems 'nearly' what I'm after - and I get to drive alot more cars than would otherwise be possible - I've done some sums below.

Bespokes works out at:

£7,900 per annum
Pay monthly - £2,520 deposit - £412 monthly

42 driving days per year, taken as:
6 weeks or
6 - 4 days weekends + 18 mid week days

Limited to 3,000 miles Per annum - or 71 miles per day, extra miles are 75p each (500 miles =£375)

Also they have peak and off peak times of year half the days MUST be split into both periods.

PS. I've got a Mini Cooper for my daily needs.

P1 website is now up. Basics for all the clubs are:

P1
*£15k P/A 5,000 miles approx 45 days (points system) driving. P/A
*Stable - All new ferrari range, Lambo, Aston Vanquish - the best range basically

BESPOKES
*£8k P/A 3,000 miles for 42 days (restictions apply)
*Stable Ferrari 355,348 360 - old Astons, various Porsche, TVRs

CLASSIC CAR CLUB
*£5 P/A unlimited miles approx 40 days (points system) driving P/A
*Stable Ferrari 348, Old Astons, Porsches, mostly 'classics'

Am tempted by Bespokes at the moment.

Hmmm
often used to wonder about this as living in London, travelling for business and owning expensive sportscars don't always mix.

I don't suppose anyone knows of a similar service here in Manhattan?

Well that clears up one mystery. I moved to a job in the building next door to them last week and was wondering what they did. The building is very discreet, there's only a small company name on the sign at the entrance to the site.

I was going to knock on the door and ask for a job on the basis that if that was their staff car park outside I didn't care what they did, I wanted to work there

It's on the new development behind Business Park 4. Go straight up the drive past Pira and Logica and you come to a barrier with an intercom. There's a new, L-shaped industrial unit and P1 are in the far corner. There's a path through so I often walk past going to Leatherhead at lunchtime.

A typical haul in the car park the other day was 2x Ferrari 550s, 2x Ferrari 360s, 1x 355 Berlinetta, 1x 355 Spider, 1x Diablo, assorted Porkers, 1x RR Silver Shadow, a really mint looking MkII Jag and a couple of Jag XK8s. They lock them all away at night (unsurprisingly)

Just to restart this thread as I went to the Classic Car Club in London today. They had an open weekend so I went down to have a look. All well used cars but at least you wouldn't get worried when it rains or with all the dead flies on the front after a weekend session. Good deals to be had if joined today but the Birmingham club location would be more convenient but has a smaller stable. Any recent experience/comments out there? I'd consider joining if all is good. And when I've got the disposable cash!

Hopefuly I'll get my collection in good shape here throughout 2003. Gonna need someone to run them around every now and then.

Where abouts in NYC do you reside? Do you know of any garages at decent prices in town?

The P1 club is more of a lifestyle thing as well I think. I got all the gumf on it (unsolicited Grrr!) a while back.

Along with the cars you get membership to a gentlemans club (more chesterfields and cigars than spearmint rhino) and a private jet available to you for the tiny amount of £4700 an hour!

Matt.

Me? Upper East Side for the last 3 years (West Side before that). Garages are definitely getting cheaper and if you're prepared to go oop North, there's covered stuff available for less than $200 a month in the 110's on the east side...
