Question about E-bay feedback

Is it correct that a seller cannot rteturn negative feedback any longer?

I've been messed about before by a seller who I then left negative feedback for, he was completely in the wrong but then gave me tit for tat negative feedback.

I'm currently experienceing a similar situation where a seller (trader) claims he sent the goods not once but twice, I don't believe him.

I'm wanting to start a dispute and give him negative feedback to warn others.

Yes this is true, the feedback can not be "registered" as negative but this does not necessarily stop the seller from writing:


Negative! Negative! Negative! Negative!!!!!!!!!

Correct. They can only leave positive (or no) feedback.

Sometimes they will leave a positive but with a negative comment.

So you want to thump him and be immune from a suitable riposte, right?

Well it works both ways - there are dishonest buyers too. I stopped selling on eBay because I got nailed twice by ahole buyers wanting refunds, safe in the knowledge I couldn't touch them. I wasn't going to be intimidated so I held my ground and got two negs. I cannot 'warn others' (ie sellers) that these buyeres are aholes. Bye bye eBay.

You can get those comments removed, it's mentioned in the feedback forum under "feedback abuse"
"Negative statements within Feedback left for a buyer that conflict with the positive rating"
If you complain then the comment is removed but you keep the positive point as a bonus.

Yes, I don't see how I'm at fault when I paid him for the goods immediately and a fairly high amount for postage for a 1-3 day delivery and was still waiting after a week.

I contacted him to let him know and he told me to "double check" I hadn't received them (wasting time and winding me up I suppose)

I then responded that no, nothing had been delivered and he told me he'd send a replacement and would be with me in 1-3 days, now some 5 days later there's still no sign. Now almost 3 weeks after I initially paid for them...

Ebay has it's share of conmen and people should be warned.
