A guy in my office received an NIP recently and he was bricking himself. Impossible to believe it as he is the slowest driver I know. Checked the details and it was 300 miles north of here on a day when he was in the office.

Wrote to plod and they checked the picture again to find it wasn't his car and wasn't him - they had MISREAD THE PLATE!!! Apologies and on your way sir...

Lots of people I have spoken to since in the same situation if they could not remember and the ticket was issued close to home would have just fessed up and copped the fine. ALWAYS CHECK!!! Always ask for the photo evidence to identify the car / driver.

No that is not me - just some turkey that kept getting in the way of my shots (I was taking the photo)

Funny enough Mrs Bongo took a very similar pic of the two lassies for me. Very thoughtful.

I thought they would only supply photo evidence if it went to court? Or did I misread that somehwere?

IIRC they only have to supply the evidence if you are pleading not guilty.

Um - let me think about that for a second ... YES!!!!

But what has that got to do with the thread? I was just highlighting to everyone to check the facts before you even consider fessing up.
