Been asked to make an mp3 music compilation - Help!?

Right, the young lady in question has told me she likes to tape (literally) and later listen to a programme off a radio station (London). The programme is on a Monday evening/night, and I think its called Break Point, or maybe its not. Apparently its quite "funky" music. . .and before you ask yes I do like this lady very much, and would like to make a reasonable impression at this first attempt.
I've had a scoot around the schedules to no avail! If anyone has any idea of which station and programme this is I0'd be very (very) grateful.

I've not heard of the show, but with it being called Break Point I'm thinking its on the breakbeat/ electro "vibe".. unless by funky you mean shes more in jazz at which point I have no idea. I would have thought that such a show would have been on Kiss 100 or XFM but had a look and not noticed anything.I've had a scoot around the schedules to no avail! On the assumption that it is breakbeat shes in to, you say shes asked you to make a compiliation? Is she suggesting that you listen to the station and make up a CD of the tunes she might like?
If you cant find the exact station but want to make a funky breakbeat CD then check out some of the breakbeat tracks that Annie Mac plays on radio 1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/mashup/). You can listen again and there are full tracklistings on the site.
If you want to mix up a compliation with some older stuff on it aswell then pretty much anything by Plump Dj's, Krafty Kuts, A-Skillz is massive.

Sack the radio taping and make her a compilation tape.
To me, making a tape is like writing a letter. There's a lot of erasing and rethinking and starting again. A good compilation tape, like breaking up, is hard to do. You've got to kick off with a corker, to hold the attention (I started with "Got to Get You Off My Mind," but then realized that she might not get any further than track one, side one if I delivered what she wanted straightaway, so I buried it in the middle of side two), and then you've got to up it a notch, or cool it a notch, and you can't have white music and black music together, unless the white music sounds like black music, and you can't have two tracks by the same artist side by side, unless you've done the whole thing in pairs and...oh, there are loads of rules.

As I wont be in all monday evening, I need to record it to find out what she listens to. An MP3 Compilation is the aim. . .which I will then put onto her soon to be newly purchased mp3 player. Will create it, and then quiz her for the player, that way she wont back out (you know what they can be like), then the "gift" is handed over
