Power Steering

Ive heard that the race cars use a power steering pump from a saxo? Does anyone know where one can be aquired from or a part number? Also any tips on fitting?

Evening Mike.
I use a pump from a Peugeot but I believe they are the same as the Saxo. I got mine off ebay for £50 a while back. It slots in nicely in one of the headlight compartments on the Taz but the units aren't very big anyway. I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Made my own pipework up.
If you buy secondhand you must make sure you get the relay with it as these will cost top side of a century if you have to go the main dealer route. These pumps draw a massive amount of power on startup so this is essential, but once running power consumption is very low.
Peugeot breakers may be the best to try first but they will know the value of them. Recommended upgrade though.

Mike, you could try wide rangeing,diverse or assorted Corsa columns but failing that an electric one might also do.
