Real tree or fake

The Christmas tree has been getting more expensive every year, Last year mine was £70, this year they wanted £85, so me and the kids have decided to get a fake one out of the loft from years ago and spend the cash on something else.

Try Sweden or Finland instead, loads more trees than Norwegians could even imagine

Hell has frozen over here. I've had a fake for years. Bought it after Xmas some years back for a fiver, stands nearly 6ft tall, looks pretty reasonable, and have had many seasons out of it. Have bought a fibre optic job too, but that's too much "council house modern" for my liking.

Always had a real one when the kids were small, but as our lounge was only 10'x 12' we always had to cut the back of the tree off to fit it into a corner. Now have a mahoosive lounge but can't be arsed with Christmas any more so have a fake one.

I've noticed this, we had to get one last weekend as we can't make it any other time and we could smell it for 1 day only, now even having been out of the house all day and coming in, it still doesn't have that distinctive tree smell

Edit: Our tree cost £50 for one that is 6ft, we could of got it cheaper elsewhere but we're a bit pushed for time this year.

Bought a ready dressed tree a few years ago for £40 and it was fine, its no fun getting a real tree into a flat then out again with no mess

Real - Whenever we're here for Xmas we always get a real tree - We order from the BDA Olympic committee, who donate a sizable amount of the proceeds to help develop sports locally.

Real for us - but i buy a 5' decent tree for around £15. Never had a bad one yet, and only get a few needles. Got a 1yr old this yr though, which may make things interesting. Never thought of cutting the back off it to make it go into a corner tohugh - what a good idea! Will give me more space for his toys!

We used to have a fake one for about 15 years of my childhood but it was seriosuly knakered by then, so we've been getting real ones since and what i find is they do look so much better

Much prefer real ones, though they're way overpriced this year it seems, round here at least. Plus with a very hyperactive springer spaniel pup hooning around the house and getting the other animals in all manner of frenzy it seems the sensible thing would be to accept the fact that I can't be arsed to go out and get one.
