Where to go for a decent dinner jacket?

Due to a number of forthcoming DJ-requiring engagements, it would appear sensible to acquire one.

Nothing too fancy or expensive - just a decent serviceable dinner jacket/trousers will do me.

I don't want to spend a whole day wandering around trying stuff on - I'd rather just head directly to somewhere that will be OK. Anywhere that people can recommend? Anywhere with a juicy pre-christmas sale?

I bought mine from Marks & Spencers, it's good quality and was about £300 I think. I've had it for a couple of years and maybe use it 6-8 times a year, so it's cheaper than hiring one.

I got mine from the local M&S Factory Outlet, so it was about a third of the price of a high street store.

True! But at the time I needed one. I went over to Hong Kong recently and had two fantastic suits made in wool and cashmere, tailor made to measure and they were about £150 each! Result!

Try Slaters if you have one near you. I got a reasonable DJ for £130, and for that they made a few alterations to get it to fit properly too. For the amount of use it gets it's fine.
