A40 nightmare!

Well on my way back from Gillingham (what a place that is..) I turned off for the A40 services for a cheeky KFC and some petrol, when as i rounded the bend coming over the brow of the hill, a ford focus estate was stopped on the opposite side of the road, hazards on with an oldish chap waving franticly out his window, As i get closer he gets out of the car, door wide open, still waving!
It was literaly seconds before he was suddenlyon the floor, the car rolling wards and him underneath it!!!!
Before i knew it i was somehow out of my car, hazards on (handbrake up) stopping the car from crushing him! I managed to push the car up hill off of him, but he couldn't get up, luckily another driver ran over and managed to get him up thank god.
After a day of getting lost in kent and generally being stressed out by the whole ordeal of being in Gillingham, i really didn't need that rush of bad adrenaline!
Thankfully the guy was allright, obviously shaken up alot but otherwise all right. Turns out he had put petrol in his diesel car and it had conked out, he'd try'd to wave people past but they didn't understand and he'd forgot to put the handbrake on.
Itook him back to the services and got him sorted with the AA, his insurers was sorting him transport as i left.
Oh and i'm pretty sure i saw JC in a new black F430 scud at the peartree interchange this morning!

We'll soon have to leave this old duffers to their own devices as we wont be able to afford their pensions if we keep saving them.
Petrol in a diesel, forgets to put his handbrake on, then gets run over by his own car...? You have to wonder if he/we may not be better if he took a cab!!

I was thinking that after, after i had got over the sheer disbeleif of what had just occured! He didn't seem all there to me, i even had to show him how to answer his mobile phone, should someone in this condition still be driving??Petrol in a diesel, forgets to put his handbrake on, then gets run over by his own car...? True, but leaving the handbrake off and stepping out of the car when your parked on an incline is a pretty silly thing to do
I must admit, that was a stupid thing to do. I think it would be good to have a retest every five years, starting at age seventy. There was mention on one of the threads last week, where an old chaps poor parking was pointed out to the BIB, but nothing was done. A few weeks later, same old chap, trying to park, crushed a pedestrian up against a wall.
